About the resort

One of the largest ski resorts in the world, La Plagne is made up of a series of 10 villages tucked within the stunning scenery around Mont Blanc and the awe-inspiring Bellecôte Glacier. With an impressive 140 miles (225km) of piste, La Plagne is more than big enough to keep powderhounds happy, but if that wasn’t enough, a state-of-the-art new lift system now links it with nearby Les Arcs to form one of the biggest ski resorts in the world.

Skiing in La Plagne

La Plagne’s a big place, and skiers of all abilities will find plenty of action on and off-piste to meet their needs. The resort’s actually made up of 10 villages, all impeccably interconnected by a system of lifts, pistes and roads.

Up at the top you’ll find Belle Plagne, Bellecote and Aime-la-Plagne, each sitting at an altitude of a round 2000m and offering some of the longest ski runs in the world – up to 9 miles (14km) in some places. Since so many of the villages are so high up in the clouds La Plagne is also one of the most snowsure places in Europe, with an extended season lasting well into late April.

Beginners are well catered for with a decent range of nursery slopes and some top-notch ski schools, while intermediates and experts will find an excellent range of cross-country trails and on and off-piste action
