Summary
One bedroom top floor (3rd - no lift) of a traditional tenement building (1890) located just behind the top of Easter Road and looks out over Edinburgh.
Description
The apartment is set off the main road and there's no through access so the street is quiet with hardly any traffic (free parking on the whole street outside the apartment). Just around the corner are a good selection of shops including an excellent artisan baker/patisserie and a brilliant independent wine shop. The city centre is a 10-15 minute walk away and if you don't want to walk buses run upto every 5 minutes from the top of the road. Bike hire can also be arranged in advance if you like to get around on two wheels.
Perfect for a single or couple, the flat has a new king size bed and is bright and modern with views to Arthur's Seat (extinct volcano) with a padded window seat to enjoy them from. All recently refurbished with a new kitchen, bathroom and floors throughout. There's an electric shower over a small bath and the living/kitchen/dining room feels spacious and is really comfortable and cosy.
Fully equipped with gas central heating, WiFi internet (average speed 13megs), large fridge/freezer, washing machine/drying rack, electric espresso maker, gas hob, electric oven, plenty of cooking equipment, basic food ingredients (oils, spices etc). There is no TV, if you want to watch tv there is high speed wifi so bring a laptop and you can watch almost anything.
There's a vintage radio in the kitchen and a DAB radio/alarm in the bedroom. Also an amp and good speakers in the living room that you can plug your iPod or MP3 into (if you have a Mac you can stream music wirelessly from iTunes).
This is a great base if you want more than a hotel or serviced apartment can offer. Basic breakfast foods (bread, jams, homemade marmalade, eggs) are supplied.
I work in the arts and so can advise you on what's going on locally if you're interested in seeing a performance or visiting the galleries. Maps, tourist leaflets, restaurant guides and info on the immediately local area are available in the flat. There are also books and a library of playscripts for you to enjoy while you stay.

#176 The apartment is truly comfortable
During our stay we didn't meet James - he was in a travel - but his friend Matthew met us, showed us a flat and gave a lot of great recommendations about the city, transportation and entertainments. However, James left us a bottle of Champagne, which was extremely pleasant. The apartment is truly comfortable, modern and cozy. The kitchen is well equipped and there were some food in the fringe, like coffee for a coffee machine, fresh milk, juice and amazing bread from a local bakery. There are many heating devices and the flat is very warn itself, so it's impossible to get frozen there. The location is just perfect - 7 minutes on foot to the Royal Mile and about 12-15 to the Princess street. There are lots of shops and restaurants around, so you can find almost everything not far away from the place. Our stay in Edinburgh was very enjoyable, not in the last turn because of the flat. Will definitely stay there if we are in Edinburgh again.
