Description

Keswick Boat House offers a truly unique experience, being the only property of it's kind in the Lake District.

From the balcony overhanging the water you can enjoy a glass of wine while watching the launches arriving and departing from the jetties and the ducks splashing about on the lake. Inside the property is equally as stunning, consisting of an open plan design with antique furniture and a wealth of beams, some of which you may need to duck underneath.

There are many wonderful walks from the doorstep around the lake, both low level or high peaks for the more energetic. The renowned Theatre by the Lake, The Keswick Tea Gardens and Hope Park are all within 200 yards and Keswick Town centre with its many amenities is only a 5 minute walk.

Ground floor

With gas central heating, the accommodation comprises of an open plan design with steps between the various levels.

Lounge and Dining area: With TV, video, CD/radio, arched window overlooking the lake and lowered doorway to balcony overhanging the lake.
Kitchen area: With electric oven, ceramic hob, fridge, dishwasher and microwave.

Bedroom: Mezzanine room with double bed, shower room with shower cubicle.
WC: Separate room with hand basin.

Facilities

All fuel, bed linen and towels provided.
Miscellaneous

Garden, jetty and deep water mooring for your own boat. Fishing on the lake. Private parking for 2 cars. Guests have free use of a rowing boat at the 'boat landings' next door (subject to availability and opening hours).

Due to the close proximity to the water the property is not suitable for babies or any children under 13.

Area description

Keswick is overlooked by spectacular scenery including the towering Skiddaw and Lonscale Fell to the north and Derwentwater a stones throw away to the south, in the heart of the Northern Lakes.

The market town gained its original charter in 1276 and although small it now forms the hub of the Northern Lake District. Keswick has great character with its well tended appearance (Winning several national awards); two large parks close to the town centre, speciality, gift and outdoor shops and a range of outdoor and indoor attractions.

Close by is the 4000 year old Castlerigg Stone Circle and the shores of Derwentwater are a mere stroll away past the Theatre by the Lake. During the summer months visitors can enjoy a free minibus service run by the National Trust from Keswick linking into round trips to Buttermere.

Keswick is a great base for a holiday in the Lake District with plenty of facilities close at hand but in the midst of beautiful north Lakeland countryside.
